Recently I reached a milestone around here. 25 years on the job in the Big Easy, whew would have never dreamed I would be here that long but here I am. This started out as something cool to do, and well stayed that way. Just a young kid looking for a change, knew people in the medical field, my sister, if you haven’t meet her you haven’t meet one of the greatest people in the world ( as is all my family), and a dear departed friend Sue both worked at the now defunct Mercy Hospital, where after the late shift at Roy Rogers I would bring left over food for the ER. I meet a few medics there who talked me into trying this thing out. So I did, went through class, many pestering late hours of drinking and studying at Sue’s, questioning everything I was looking at. Test time came and passed on the first try, Big envelope in the mail, lol. So off to City Hall I went, by the time I reach the house again the phone was ringing and the next day I was at work. The coolest thing was the second day on the job I was on the field of the Dome working, should I say watching a preseason Saints game. Needless to say I was hooked from that point on.
Way too many notable things have happened in 25 years, to sit and tell stories about them here, besides JoJo I am not, RIP my friend. I am sure I will explain some over time here though. This job has allowed me to meet some great people, many from day one I’m still able and proudly call friends. Meet my Hero and my Heart here even. Of course there are those that hold such a higher place in my heart and will always play a role in my life, these are my Alliance family. Lived, loved, laughed and grieved with these friends. They hold all the credit to molding me into the person I am today, so it’s their fault!! It is also the Alliance fault that Booter was an incredible wonderful alcoholic dog, and singing in a shower with a bird just seems to be the thing to do!! I mean that!!!!
Seriously if it wasn’t for the people I meet and still love through this business, there is no way I could wake every day and show up to work. Thank you all for allowing me in your world.
………………………now hurry up the last 5 years so I can quit this job!! Lol.
T-man, I don't believe that you will run out of there after the next five years. What I am waiting to see is how you plan on using the jaws and a walker at the same time! Three fingers to the dashboard! R-man
ReplyDeleteThey will hear three fingers to dash louder than ever, gone missa and will not return!!!
