A record night!!

Who Dat Nation rise up and take a bow!! Our leader has shown the world the Nation tops all!! With a short 9 yard pass to Sproles , Drew surpassed Dan Marino after 27 years as the new yards leader in the NFL history books, at 5087 yards in a season. All with one more game to go so stand by for the updated yards.
With the class he has always shown he humbly thanks everyone and made sure that each of his fellow players were known as the reason he was able to do this. Myself couldn't have picked a better night, the last MNF game of the year, just like Marino did, and against one of our longest most fierce rivals, the Atlanta Falcons !! No it wasn't a knock at the Falcons, running up the score. It was taking advantage of a perfectly place stage to play it out on. To the Dirty Birds misfortune, The Saints happened to have already had the game well in hand!
This just two years after he lead our team to its first Superbowl appearance, and Victory. Stopping that year just 15 yards shy of the record. So no telling how many time he could or will break his own record before he stops lacing up the cleats!!
Keep the Who Dat Nation alive during this new Superbowl Drive!

Penn State

Maybe I shouldn’t even write anything regarding the Penn State situation. But seems every one has a say so here goes.
The victim’s and their families should be and will be in everyone’s prayers. These children and well no children, male or female should ever be subjected to such action's from a grown man or woman. To me this is the single most disgusting act by an adult that can be done.
First and for most coach Sadusky, as great of a linebacker’s coach there ever will be, should be taken out back and shot!!! Such heinous acts against children should by pass courts etc and go direct to getting shot point blank!!
My understanding is the pursuit and sub sequential firing of Coach Paterno, for as the board of trustees said “best interest of Penn State” is completely wrong. Yes the best interest should be looked after but even in the press conference, they admit they nothing more than what is on the news to base things on etc and yet fired a man for not doing enough, though all he did years ago was following the chain of command at the University and it wasn’t a problem then. 61 years, Stadium, library, streets to name a few things at Penn State, all because of Coach and his high standards and commitment. 409 wins, 24 Bowl wins, two National Championships, the respect of everyone who ever meet of coached around him, all null in void, because no one did the right thing by the victims, 12 years ago. Not coach!! The campus police, the University President did minimal after the crimes were reported. This wasn’t Coaches’ job to investigate or bring down punishment. It is the campus police and university president’s job to do so, after they were immediately informed by Coach Paterno. Police Chief Shreffler, President Spanner and then DA Gricar all deemed no further actions other than banning Sadusky from any contact with children on campus, was warranted. They failed, not Coach.
Besides the first victim’s high school coach, Coach Miller, who did nothing upon finding them in a shower at the high school, the one person who by far could have done something immediately and definitively was the graduate assistance that walked in on them. Per the grand jury testimony, “heard rhythmic slapping sounds, believed to be sexual activity”. Instead of pushing forward into the shower, and separating them and hell beating the shit out of Sadusky right then, he runs home to daddy. A grown man, ex football player, that is. Then calls Coach and telling him, what we don’t know, but if it was what he testified to, it was sketchy at best. Then Coach Paterno did what he was suppose to do and meet with the University President and Police Chief and advised the men whose job it is to investigate.
Coach admits now through all this, he should have done more. But I believe at 60 some and probably never in a position such as this he believes he did at the time the right thing. Yet now, in the best interest of the University the trustee’s feels he should be fired, not allowed to coach the last games of a legendary career. But the man who saw the heinous act, failed the child epically by not stepping in, never himself calling the authorities still has a job and not fired as of today. Just another University failure!
The investigation isn’t over yet and we are all waiting to hear from more in-depth from Coach, till we know if he did have even more knowledge other than what was told to him. My view remains he was wrongfully released from his life, yes his life was taken from him tonight. Just forget the grand jury had already cleared Coach of any wrong doing or requirement for further legal action!!
Shame and failure should be placed where it belongs and in my view not on the shoulders of one man, who just received a report of and reported these heinous acts.

Getting Old Sucks

So a new day begins in the life of an old fart. Recently I had the good fortune to get my blood pressure check due to a routine check of a monitor. To my surprise the number are not suppose to be that high! Of course my hard headiness and standard response was to shrug it off. Hell I am the T-Man so that's the way I am.

Now of course the general opinion of my job duties, involves nothing but tv, computer and sleep. Man if they only knew, 85 different personalities, whiners, bitchers, back stabbers etc etc, coming to you every day. Give em what they want and , well trust me ,they will twist it to give another reason to continue the complaints. Lets not forget, that no matter what went wrong, who actually responsible for it, almost every time it come back a being the fault of a few in a trailer. The hours not only at work, but the amount done at home and off clock, which almost everyone Has no clue about. Causes all kinds of stress.

Well cant put it all on work, poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking and Rum. Things that will do this too. Of course the ole age factor plays into it.

So getting back to the story. I then began to check my pressure everyday at work, seeing it stay steadily high was becoming expected. Now having medical experience and fellow friends around. The call for a need to seek real treatment began. Stubbornness stood strong. Got to say, something like this gets in your head.

A couple of rare days off for me came and went. With every little ache, head ache etc had me stopping what I was doing, resting then returning to it or not. Fear finally hit me, I could blow a big fuse per say. Asked the wife to recommend a good internal medicine Doc. Of course she did, a good one from a local hospital, now here's the kicker. August 25 just two months away, now I felt that was safe to wait, lol. Plenty of time to strike oil in the pressure plant I have started. So a new plan.

Began to make a few changes, like lessen the amount I smoke, yes quitting is the best. But from a pack and half a day to a pack lasting two, in just a day. I say its a good start. Food intact changes, wow never eaten this much fruits in my life. Need to so I will. Next exercise again, yes used to do the gym 6 to 7 days a week. I know couldn't tell since I always had a good protective covering over my 6 packs. See never just drank a six pack, so having a keg was cool to me. All good but more was needed. So to a doc, prescription done. Medicine, hate it. I now have officially lost my S on my chest. As in Rocky 2, see he bleeds, he is human.

We will see how this plays out, take my medicine and then in 2 months see a Doc for a complete in depth exam. Then go from there.

Damn getting old sucks!!!!

Proud to be an American

To the men and woman of the military I salute you for all you sacrifice to allow us the freedom we hold dear.

After many years of searching we have finally ending the reign of terror and destruction brought to the earth by Osama Bin Laden. Hiding behind a woman, a woman that he gives zero credit or purpose in life but to bear children, cowardly he hid.

After many months of tireless redundant prep work. The military accepted the call from the leader of our Country and carried out the mission to capture or kill the Worlds most wanted man. With precision they entered a secured compound and ended the life of Osama Bin Laden. Caring to remove and prevent harm the women and children found there. Though the one used to shield the fearless leader unfortunately lost her life.

Then following the Muslim traditions, he was prepared and buried. Knowing that not all would see this that way. He was treated better than he would have ever treated, anyone he killed. So I don't worry that some may feel we humiliated the Muslim faith with this. Remember the people of these leader's that have been killed. They have hung and burned our soldiers, drugged them through the street for all to see. Caring not of the humiliation and disrespect they gave to those families. For that I care not that you feel we humiliated the Muslim faith. We were not attacking a faith or a religion, but a man that lived his own interpretation of a belief to benefit his life. Be thankful and happy that we even took the time to do as we did.

To those of us that live here in America under the blanket of security our leaders and military provide. Especially those that make a living beyond most of our dreams, how dare you comment on how we shouldn't be happy for this to have happened. That we may have missed judge him because we didn't break bread with the man. Get real, I didn't need to know Hitler or Stalin but damn well knew that what they did and stood for. The deaths and destruction they caused was worth them being killed. Ridden the world of their views, the same goes here. If your accepted beliefs are the same as his, then we welcome you and your families to pack your shit and move to that country. Live your life with them ,stand tall and work as they do, living off what they make and speak your mind. See how it is that your reacted to there. I didn't think you would, no big sports contract or movie deals there to allow you be above the rest. Be thankful you live here in the Untied States where I feel is one of our greatest down fall is tolerance and acceptance of religious beliefs and interpreted ways of life. You would find out you are not giving these freedoms else where.

I am as proud today as I have been in a couple of years to be an American, give thanks to God and our Military to allow us to live our lives.

Next Year

Okay Who Dat Nation we will have to wait till next year, again. The past two years have been a great rush and ride that we were honored to be invited to. But like most things in life all must come to an end. Superbowl Champions 2009, something that can never be taken away from any of us, so stand proud as a member of the Nation.
It was going to be a hard task to repeat, and at each turn when someone went down, we seemed to push past it. Til we couldn't change any more. To many key injuries at skilled positions and of course a complete defensive break down solidified the end to our run, for now.
Lets look at the positive side of things, a great core top build around, and yes a rebuilding year is upon us. Great fans like my boy Rion, who won the NyQuil Ultimate fan contest. The massive amount a Saints decor around the city looks great and the Jerseys we all got ( Cheaply, Thanks China. lol ) .
Completely forgot to mention, Ricky Jackson. The first New Orleans Saints to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in Canton!!
Till next year have a Who Dat of a summer, Geaux Voodoo, and Saints Fan 4life!!!

Happy New Years

Well lets put 2010 in the books. What a year it was though, whew not sure if we can match again. Though will try. We as a city and as a Who Dat Nation witnessed our fantasy or dream come true February 7th in South Florida. That's right by far the only event that mattered was the New Orleans Saints won their first Superbowl!! What made it special, was the 44th Superbowl, in our 44th year of a franchise and our first trip to the Big Game. The city of course went crazy like never seen, not because of the mayhem and destruction like some sports celebration cause in other cities. But just pure party and outward celebrations!! Being this happened in the mist of Mardi Gras, we put on a parade for our Sports hero's!! As visually unreal as it may have been, sadly our city and police dropped the ball in its planning. In 25 years of working parades, I never seen such a disorganized event like this. Some would have thought we have never put on a parade before.
So in come 2011, new start, new ways and a chance to make changes in each of our lives. Good luck with that. We all unfortunately will have to put up with those people around us who no matter what only care for themselves and do what ever they can to make those around them miserable. To those , get help!!! but make sure your dumb punk baby whiny asses wait till the stroke of to start, damn sure wouldn't expect and early start to just make sure of things and be prepared, for your useless asses!!!!
Sorry, now lets look forward to the positive things, like February 6, and Who Dat Two Dat, repeat baby repeat!!!
